May 13, 2008 - Representative John Evans' legislation that would provide up to $22 million for Federally Qualified Health Centers statewide was a focus today of a rally held by the Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers. Evans' House Bill 1824 is currently in the House Health and Human Services Committee and is part of the House Republican Task Force's Real Prescription for Pennsylvania to provide coverage to Pennsylvania's uninsured while enhancing health care services and availability for all Pennsylvanians at a lower cost. “These centers and their staff help the individuals and families who may have no other place to turn for health care services,” Evans (R-Erie/Crawford) told a crowd of about 200 people at today's event held at the Capitol.
